Touchdown, Kessel

April 17, 2008 by David Reich-Hale

When my wife was pregnant with our son, I gave her a list of names I would consider. Mookie was on the list. He would have been named after Mookie Wilson, a great American and member of the 1986 World Series champion Mets.

She said no – and we moved on.

Former Long Island Power Authority chief Richard Kessel’s son was born earlier this month and he pitched the name Eli, after New York Giants Super Bowl hero Eli Manning. Mrs. Kessel was fine with it, thus Eli Kessel was born.

Congrats to the Kessel family. Here’s to a future dinner table that also includes Plaxico and Tyree Kessel.
