We apologize for passing on the above tawdry pun, but that’s how Renewable Energy Long Island is pitching its latest iniative.
The advocate for conservation and the production of alternative energy is asking Long Islanders, for their New Year’s resolution, to pledge to lower their carbon dioxide output next year by 5,000 pounds. To do that, people would have to conserve energy by driving less, recycling and reducing hot water and electricity use.
To make the pledge, visit RELI’s Web site.
Here’s the pledge:
“I pledge to cut my carbon dioxide emissions by at least 5,000 pounds in the year 2008. I will join the Long Island Climate Action Network as a volunteer to learn what I can do to cut back on harmful Greenhouse Gas Emissions”.
