The Long Island Rail Road is putting its foot down when it comes to rude behavior on its trains. That’s why it’s launched a pointed ad campaign to thwart insolence.
Commuters should notice large posters inside the trains, addressing two issues.
First, the LIRR asks riders, “Don’t be a Cell-Fish.” That means you should be courteous on the phone, keeping conversations short and even refraining from taking calls altogether.

Next, the LIRR asks riders, “One Seat, No Feet!” That means riders should stop putting their bags on the seats, and put them in the overhead racks instead. Also, keep your feet off of the seats.
So … now that the LIRR has made its demands, do you have any demands for the LIRR?

I have lived in New York since 1979 and I love it and I still love it. I love riding on the LIRR for work and for pleasure and it is important to keep up with the times and with what the majority of people, the ones who use the train services anyway…and pay for it,want.
In general, people of New York and Long Island are very nice and polite…always there to help out their neighbors…at least that has been my experience….
