The Long Island Expressway actually acted like a highway this morning, rather than the line at the Department of Motor Vehicles, which likely means more people than not are off for the Veterans Day weekend.
But who among you is working today?

I’m in wholesale electronic components. If factories are open, then I am.
Media never sleeps, all four of our radio staions are fully staffed and we are busy today with live remotes and on-site retail appearances. Not a lot of cold calls and phones today.
AHM is open today. Mortgage industry never sleeps.
As a veteran service officer, what better way to “remember” Veterans Day (as celebrated) than to not take the day off.
Our veterans need help 24/7 — it is the least I can do.
Although today is a day of rememberance and for thanking our veterans in a variety of ways, some private companies are open like ours. We can still work and thank God and our veterans, some of us are still able to.
We are a pharmaceuticals company — never close. $ is everything.
I’m at the lab today. Most of our staff are off for the holiday, but the experimental operations runs all the time — nights, weekends and holidays.
In fact, I had to work yesterday as well. I was pretty upset that I’d have to miss the Giants/Dallas game. In retrospect, I think I was better off not seeing it.
I am working because I have no life. I live to work and work to live. No, I am working because I am told to, and I don’t especially enjoy eating out of dumpsters and sleeping under bridges, even if the company shared in those endeavors is always varied and stimulating if ripe and often unintelligible.
