Hello from Merrick

October 23, 2007 by David Reich-Hale

fsqueezed1.jpgApparently we’re meeting a local legend.

We’ve made it to Mary Bill Diner in Merrick and we’re minutes away from starting our Freshly Squeezed event with Richard Kessel, the former chief at Long Island Power Authority. We let the staff and crowd here know we’re meeting Kessel and one guy immediately said “don’t start a fight with him, because he usually picks up the tab for all of us.”

The wait staff cheered and laughed. I thought everyone hated anything connected to LIPA? There’s hope for Kevin Law after all.

David gets to go to the Super Bowl with Bob Catell and Richard Kessel when

    A) Journalists start getting paid like overpriced lawyers and fat cat energy stars

    B) The Jets go to the Super Bowl

    Good luck with that.
