The parent company of Sterling Optical eye-care franchises, Emerging Vision Inc. of Garden City, announced today that is entered Kentucky by opening two Sterling franchises in Georgetown and Lexington.

Emerging Vision, Inc. (OTCBB - ISEE.OB) today announced that it has expanded into the state of Kentucky with the opening of two new Sterling Optical franchise locations in the cities of Georgetown and Lexington. The new Sterling Optical locations feature expanded self-selection merchandising systems as well as full service eye exams, on-site manufacturing of eyeglasses and on-line appointment scheduling.
Earlier this year, the Company launched a targeted marketing campaign to market the franchise opportunity within the optical industry. Since January 1st, the Company has signed 8 new franchise agreements, and construction is currently under way for additional Sterling Optical and Site for Sore Eyes locations opening this fall.
Emerging Vision, one of Long Island’s penny stocks, surged in June to trade around 47 cents per share after it announced it plans to acquire competitor The Optical Group. Since, the stock has settled to around 36 cents per share.
