Entenmann’s finds perfect pairing

July 2, 2007 by Henry E. Powderly II

One of the country’s best known coffee cake makers said it will offer a new line of products that’s perfectly suited to accompany its baked goods.

The Bay Shore-based company said it entered into a marketing agreement with Coffee Holding Co. Inc., a major coffee distributor, to create an Entenmann’s-branded line of coffees.

Coffee Holding, which essentially licensed the Entenmann’s name for three years, will manufacture, market and distribute the coffee line.

From the statement:

“We anticipate a strong demand from consumers for Entenmann’s coffee once they see the product in their local stores,” says Lorraine Hale, Category Director for the Entenmann’s companies. “We’re looking forward to our entry into the coffee category with Coffee Holding Co. and anticipate a long and productive relationship.”

In January, the local baker, which moved to Bay Shore in 1961, said it would shut down its local cake and cookie operations and cut up to 350 jobs.

Makes perfect sense, maybe now they can save those 350 jobs!

“Makes perfect sense, maybe now they can save those 350 jobs!” Indeed, I hope they can.

I love Entimann’s and it would be sad if their prices shot up with less production.
