The largest winery on Long Island wants to know what makes people desire to visit our local wine country.
Pindar Vineyards said it will ask tasting room visitors to fill out the Long Island Wine Country Visitor Survey which contains a series of questions designed to gather their demographic as well as their motives for visiting.
Ten bucks says the top answer is “the wine.”
Participants will receive 10 percent off of any wine purchases made at Pindar on the day of their visit.
From the statement:
The LI Wine Country Survey will be available in the tasting room of Pindar Vineyards in Southold from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Customers will be asked to fill out the survey in return for a discount on their purchase. Once the survey’s responses have been complied, Pindar Vineyards will release an Annual Report of their findings. This will lend itself as a resource to media and local business and become a valuable statistical report for the future.

Unfortunately, it’s completely insane to think that the people who go to Pindar (probably the single worst Long Island winery) are an accurate representation of Long Island wine lovers.
Sure, they have the biggest crowds, but that doesn’t mean they should be doing this alone. The LIWC should be doing this at all wineries.
I Visted Pindar Vineyards and was one of the people who filled out the Survey. It was easy and fast and I did get my discount. To the person who wrote Pindar is the worst winery is completely isane himself and just upset that People Like Me enjoy Pindar Wines. Pindar Vineyards has been around for 30 years and has made the Northfork what it is. They have paved the way for other vineyards. I mean come on Anonymous do you think people come out here to visit shinn estates and pay $40 for a bottle of Merlot. I think Pindar wines Rock and are a great price. So all the people out there try Pindar wines. I loved the 04 cab sauv. Hats off to Pindar Vineyards
